Expansion House
Santa Barbara, CA
A total design for a site with New ADU, auxillary builings, and a ground-up remodel of the exsiting footprint. The new structure creates a sense of place and facilitates a connnection to the tree-lined creekbed to the rear of the site, elevating the experience of living on the site.
A dynamic play of angled forms results in a spatial experience of expansion and contraction which creates a spatial sensation equivalent to the dyanmics of tension and release found in music.
